Virtual Agricultural Advisor

“We can listen to what your crops have to say”.  This is the ambitious business strategy implemented by the Chilean company Instacrops, a virtual agricultural advisor which, through sensors and a powerful software platform, can give recommendations to agriculturalists.  With this tool it is possible to save up to 50% in water usage, thus increasing yields and mitigating the risks associated with climate change.

The company is a member of the Asociación Gremial de Riego y Drenaje (AGRYD) and currently exports its solutions to Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina and the United States and has taken part in diverse trade missions to Mexico, United States, Canada, Israel and Colombia.

For the CEO and Co Founder of Instacrops, Mario Bustamante, the company is evident proof that in Chile there is a potent entrepreneurial ecosystem, which, through programmes like StartUp Chile,  result in the country managing to position itself as a leader at an international level.  Whatsmore, the executive insists that: “We want the rest of the world to know that here in Chile we create innovation which contributes to change towards a better planet”.
