"At Biopacific we have unique technologies to offer high-level packaged developments in the area of agricultural bio-inputs."
“In a short time, Biopacific has become a space in the increasingly competitive area of agricultural bio-inputs. And thanks to the results it has obtained, the company is initiating export activities to Ecuador.”
Transforming bio-inputs for agriculture
It was in 2008 when Biopacific was born thanks to an alliance between the University of Chile and a group of investors. Thus, a biotechnological development platform originated with the support of the laboratories of the university, and that could penetrate the agriculture of the country. Since then, they are in search of microorganisms with biocontrol effects, mainly of native bacteria and fungi.
Its introduction in the market has been so recognized that today they have a high level scientific / technical team and an efficient production process, which allows them to offer high quality products based on Trichoderma fungi (Trichoforte and Trichofruit) and Bacillus bacteria (Bacifruit and Baciforte) in relevant cash crops.
“We are dedicated to the R + D + i of sustainable products and clean solutions, focusing our work on being an integral part of the productive and sustainable management of our fields,” says Andrés González, general manager of Biopacific.
And, in a short time, Biopacific has become a space in the increasingly competitive area of agricultural bio-inputs. Today the company belongs to the Chilean Network of Bioinsumos A.G.; and this year they have participated in trade missions to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, as well as initiating export activities to Ecuador.
Another achievement that add to their list is the creation of an innovation laboratory, a kind of scientific cowork or collaborative work of applied research, developed by a team of researchers from the Autónoma University and executives of the company itself, which aims to combat a harmful fungus of fruits and vegetables.
The company executive highlights Chile’s conditions for research and innovative development. “We represent the use of active ingredients from our country and we have unique technologies that allow us to offer high-level packaged developments,” says Andrés González, general manager of Biopacific.
